Activity examples
-
Offices (Tokyo/Toyohashi) and plants (Monogatari Food Factory and Monogatari Food Lab) have converted to 100% green electricity.
Starting on November 1, 2023, 100% of the electricity used at four of our business sites was switched to electricity that is derived from renewable energy sources. The four sites are the Tokyo Forum Office, the Toyohashi Forum Office, our noodle manufacturing plant of the Monogatari Food Factory, and our liquid seasoning processing plant of the Monogatari Food Lab.
-
Launching tree-planting activities in Toyohashi and Indonesia
We are conducting afforestation initiatives at Honokuni Minna no Mori, which is located near the top of Mt. Ishimaki—the symbol of Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture—and in a mangrove forest in the Suwung Kauh district of Denpasar Selatan, Indonesia.
-
Making effective use of unused thinned wood (creating and wearing sustainability promotion badges)
These badges are made of domestically produced, thinned cypress trees, and were worn by staff members working at directly managed stores and headquarters during Monogatari Sustainability Month (held for the first time in November 2023). This initiative contributed to the preservation of the ecosystem and the promotion of the forestry industry through the use of thinned wood, which promotes the maintenance of forests, and will also help employees develop a sense of involvement.
- Promotion of LED lighting in stores
- Expansion of stores implementing demand control
- Use of renewable energy in distribution centers
